How to distinguish the quality of ribbon

There are many kinds of ribbons in the ribbon industry, which are widely used in clothing, trademark printing, shoes, bags, industry, agriculture, military supplies, transportation and other industries. In the 1930s, ribbons were produced by hand-made workshops with exquisite pictures. The raw materials were cotton ribbons made of cotton yarn and cotton-linen ribbons made of linen yarn. After the founding of New China, the raw materials for ribbon gradually developed into nylon, polyester, polypropylene, spandex and viscose, forming three kinds of weaving, knitting and knitting technology. The structure of ribbon includes plain, twill, satin, jacquard, double-layer, multi-layer, tubular and joint structure. The warp and weft yarns of two kinds of unknown ribbons are separated and burned with lighters respectively. Some physical phenomena are observed during the burning process to determine the raw materials of warp and weft yarns. When burning, the flame, the melting condition, the odor emitted and the ash condition after burning should be observed respectively.

The following are the identification methods for different materials in ribbon mills:

Nylon ribbon: melting and burning near the flame, dripping and foaming do not directly continue to ignite celery-like taste hard, round, light, brown to gray, beaded.

Polyester ribbon: melting and burning near the flame, dropping and foaming can continue to burn, a few have very weak smoke sweet round, black or light brown one. Cotton and hemp fibers.

Both cotton and hemp fibers are instantly ignited near the flame, which burns rapidly with yellow flame and blue smoke. The difference between burning odor and burnt ash is that cotton belt burns to give off paper odor, ramie cotton burns to give out grass ash odor; after burning, cotton has very little powder ash, which is black or gray, and ramie cotton produces a small amount of gray-white powder ash.

Nylon and Polyester

Polyamide fibers (nylon) are known as polyamide fibers. They rapidly shrink and melt into white colloidal form near the flame. They melt and foam in the flame. There is no flame when burning. Without the flame, it is difficult to continue burning and emit celery odor. After cooling, the light brown melt is not easy to crush. Polyester fibers are easy to ignite and melt near the flame. When burning, they melt and emit black smoke. They are yellow flame and emit fragrant odor. After burning, the ashes are black-brown lumps, which can be twisted with fingers. Chromatic aberration test: This can be observed with the naked eye. Look at its color, lines and needle edges. It can't be messy. It should be a very pure color.

Shallow knowledge of quality:

Edge: Usually there are some yarn hairs, which can also be observed with the naked eye. The two sides of the ribbon and the lock edge should not have serious hairballs and wool.

Jump needle: This can be observed with the naked eye. There can be no jump needle in the ribbon.
